With the application of composites in various industries viz. aerospace, automobile, defence and marine, it becomes essential to carry out Compression After Impact (CAI) vibration tests study their behavior different environmental conditions. This investigates significance CAI damping characteristics aramid-basalt/epoxy interply under hygrothermal In this examination, laminates were exposed three ageing conditions, namely, ambient (ageing distilled water at 25°C), sub-zero −10°C), humid an chamber maintained 40°C 60% relative humidity) for a duration 180 days. Moisture saturated specimens subjected low velocity impacts (LVI) 10 J 15 energy levels using drop weight impact method. test was carried on post analyze residual compressive strengths.
